Call for Participation

The People's Museum for Prince celebrates Prince in all his dimensions.
We commemorate ten years since Prince's passing with a community-sourced exhibition opening June 7, 2026 (Prince's birthday) in North Minneapolis, his childhood neighborhood.
This is your invitation to help shape a collective portrait of Prince's global impact.
Share your Prince
story & art
Personal stories & art are the heart of the museum
We invite you to contribute in one or both of these ways:
PERSONAL STORIES
Share your Prince story in whatever format works best for you-
-
Written narrative (300-400 words).
-
Voice/Video Recording: Up to 5 minutes.
ARTWORK
Share your artwork. It doesn't need to be about Prince- but something you've created inspired by Prince's presence in your life. All art forms welcome including
Visual Art • Film & Video • Audio • Music • Creative Writing • Dance • Performance
Additional projects seeking your photos & memories
The People's Museum is also gathering community memories for two special projects that will be featured in the exhibition:
APRIL 21, 2016/2026 MEMORY ARCHIVE
Where were you when Prince died? Share your photos, videos, stories and artifacts from April 21, 2016 and the period that followed—where you were, what you felt, how communities gathered. Ten years later, we also welcome your reflections looking back at this moment and what it meant for you and your community.
COMMUNITY REFLECTIONS
Minnesotans: Share your Prince encounters, memories of growing up in Prince's neighborhoods (North Minneapolis, Central, Chanhassen..), or any local stories of Prince in his hometown. Stories, photos, artistic impressions welcome.
